Professional background

Graduated from University of Moratuwa reading a degree in to Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.
MBA – Management of Technology

Sahen entails 16 years of manufacturing & sales experience in the Electronics & Telco services industry in Sri Lanka. Having started as the Production Engineer at Singer Industries (Ceylon) Ltd in 1994, Sahen was elevated as the Manager Electronics spearheading the Television manufacturing plant.

In 2003, Sahen moved in to Telco manufacturing & services industry as the Director/General Manager at Steuartel under George Steuart Group.

He was instrumental in acquiring Dialog showroom dealership with a post-pay agency to Steuartel via NEC mobile distributorship in Sri Lanka and acted as the catalyst in securing the Airtel post-pay dealership to Steuartel from the Airtel launch in Sri Lanka.

Sahen was awarded scholarships in Japan for production management in year 2001 by the Asian Productivity Organization and thereafter for corporate management in 2004 by the JASTECA. Having fully exposed to Japanese management systems, he was instrumental in deriving a policy framework for training curriculum for Sri Lanka Electronics/Telco industry in year 2003 and a member of the steering committee of the master plan study for the Electronics/Telco industry in Sri Lanka under the Ministry of Industries.
